"A
New Era of Elegance"
We cordially
invite you to hold your wedding reception, anniversary celebration, live music
performance, meeting, or holiday party at the historic Parkway Ballroom—a full service
event venue.
The Parkway Ballroom was once the swing
and sway palace of Bronzeville. From 1940
to 1974, the Ballroom’s high standards of hospitality and classic décor made it
the destination of choice for many African Americans. At The Parkway social,
civic and industrial organizations held their annual fundraisers, membership
teas and graduation balls; happy crowds danced the night away to the
incomparable melodies of Count Basie, Sarah Vaughn and Nat King Cole; and
families celebrated birthdays, weddings, and reunions.
2002 ushered in A
New Era of Elegance with the reopening of The Parkway Ballroom. Today’s Parkway
presents the space’s traditional grandeur with a distinctively modern
flair. Under the management of Rome’s Joy Catering
and Event Planning, The Parkway is a flexible, full service venue suitable for
a wide range of events. Like the former Parkway, this team sets the bar
for excellence in culinary presentation, hospitality and event planning.
